Our Story
We believe if a child looks great, they will feel better about themselves, become more confident, do well in school, at home, and in their community.
Kids Free Clothing Exchange, Inc. (KFCE) was begun in 2004 by an individual who regularly encountered a young child who was in need of proper underclothing. That initial need has grown into a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides FREE CLOTHING to children in Polk, San Jacinto, Liberty, Trinity, Tyler, Hardin, and Angelina counties in Texas.
KFCE's clear, focused mission:
We believe if a child looks great, they will feel better
about themselves, become more confident, do well in school, at home, and in their community. Hopefully, as
they grow into adulthood, they will remember the
premise of KFCE and will pay it forward by becoming
strong parents, good employees, strong community
leaders, and volunteers themselves.
KFCE helps grandparents raising grandchildren, teenagers becoming parents, and children needing clothing for all reasons. We do not discriminate. Any child in need from birth to 18 years of age may come, register, and select their own clothes.
KFCE receives no government grants and has no paid staff. Our financial needs are met by private donations and most of our inventory is donated by stores and individuals. New shoes, underwear, and socks are purchased with cash donations.
We welcome new volunteers and donors. Find Out how you can help us.
